Wolf Appliance Inc., the industry leader in premium cooking equipment, today announced that its convection steam oven will be brought to market as part of the New Generation product launch, the largest product rollout in company history. Available in spring 2014, the convection steam oven couples the power of steam and convection technology in one appliance to help consumers prepare delicious, healthful meals with ease.

"The New Generation product launch has raised the bar again with products that feature performance-optimising technology and highly-adaptable design styles," said Jim Bakke, president and CEO of Sub-Zero and Wolf. "The goal with our convection steam oven is to demystify and perfect the steam cooking process. We want our owners to confidently embrace a new cooking method that can prepare everything from cookies to rack of lamb with the touch of a button."

Wolf convection steam oven with E series trim

Convection Steam Oven Features
Cooking with steam preserves nutrition, taste and texture. Steam helps food maintain up to a 22 percent higher vitamin content when compared to cooking in standard ovens. Because the steam process assists in maintaining natural juices and flavours, the use of butter and oil can be eliminated in most instances. Food prepared in a convection steam oven also stays exceptionally moist, as water used to create the steam conducts heat more efficiently than hot air alone. For each food, the Wolf oven is designed to detect the best combination of steam and convection, sense the moisture content of the food and adjust for ideal results. The same goes for leftovers in need of rejuvenation. From rice dishes to pizza and fine cuts of meat, flavour and appearance come back to life with steam cooking. Even bread several days old becomes bakery fresh again.

Wolf's 50.9 litre cavity – the largest interior cavity available in a steam oven – is more than 25 percent larger than similar units, allowing for preparation of large or multiple dishes at once. Prepare fish fillet and chocolate brownies at the same time without risking flavour transfer, saving extra steps in the kitchen. Its easily accessible water reservoir provides unlimited and uninterrupted steaming capability. Additionally, the convection steam oven comes with Wolf’s exclusive automatic cooking mode, Gourmet. Gourmet adjusts the time and temperature of a food item, from meats and vegetable dishes to frozen appetizers, based on the amount and size of the food being prepared, ensuring consistent, delicious results. Cook gorgeously browned meats to preference, with proper resting time accounted for automatically.

Offered in a width of 762 mm, the convection steam oven is available in five different models that coordinate with additional New Generation Wolf products. Design options include a “contemporary” black glass, “transitional” stainless steel and “professional” stainless steel, and models are available with either a tubular or professional style handle.

Michele Bedard, vice president of marketing for Sub-Zero and Wolf, said, "We are always striving to elevate and innovate the cooking experience. Our new convection steam oven is a truly advanced appliance that shows incredible versatility and durability. It will be a beautiful and functional addition to a kitchen."

A third-generation family-owned company, Sub-Zero, Inc., acquired Wolf in 2000. Sub-Zero and Wolf products are manufactured in the United States using only premium-quality materials that are proven to stand the test of time. Developed with and for the design community, Sub-Zero and Wolf products offer limitless design possibilities and more versatility than those of any other manufacturer.

Wolf Appliance Inc., the industry leader in premium cooking equipment, today announced the introduction of its all-new built-in coffee system as part of the New Generation product launch, the largest product rollout in company history. Available to consumers in spring 2014, this gourmet home coffee system makes professional-quality brewed coffee, espresso, cappuccino, latte, and macchiato, and perfectly steams and foams milk with a single touch. One-touch convenience also extends to the system’s milk cleaning feature, which utilises steam cleaning and does not require any disassembly. The coffee system is available in stainless steel and black glass design styles and seamlessly coordinates with other Wolf products. Optional trim kits allow the opportunity to perfectly accessorize your coffee system to match your favorite E series or M series wall ovens.

"“The coffee system is a new venture for Sub-Zero and Wolf, and one that we are incredibly proud to bring to market," said Jim Bakke, president and CEO of Sub-Zero and Wolf. "We've spent the last several years perfecting the coffee-at-home process, ensuring the creation of a flawlessly brewed coffee or beverage with just a single touch every time. The coffee system will meet the standards of even the most demanding home barista, and it is very easy to use and maintain."

Coffee System Performance Features

The one-touch, automated coffee system incorporates the following performance features to ensure consistent, delicious beverages:

Speed: A fast initial system warm up leads to swift coffee drink production, providing the perfect cup in no time. Beverages are ready to enjoy in minutes. An internal clock allows the user to power on the machine at a set time so it is ready to go when you are.
Easy Cleanup: This unique coffee system eliminates messy cleanup often associated with built-in coffee machines. With one touch of a button, a three-to six-second steam cleaning process is employed after each milk drink is prepared. Additionally, milk never enters the system’s internal machinery, so no disassembly is required for cleanup.
Settings: Owners can tailor the coffee system to work with whole bean or ground coffee. Settings can also be customised to adjust water temperature, brew strength and liquid output. Personal preferences can be stored by using the system’s "My Coffee" setting.
Water Reservoir: Conveniently located, the system’s water reservoir can be easily accessed from the front without opening the unit. The reservoir holds a 2.27 litres. The system also contains a hot water dispenser for tea and other hot instant beverages.

Coffee System Design

The coffee system is stylishly designed and pairs effortlessly with Wolf's entire product suite:

Design Styles: Offered in M series contemporary black glass, professional and transitional stainless steel finishes, and E series framed and unframed stainless steel options; the coffee system unit has a width of 597 mm (23.5") and measures 762 mm (30") when installed with a trim kit.
Design Coordination: The coffee system is designed to seamlessly coordinate with other Wolf products through the use of a trim kit. Products can be paired horizontally or stacked vertically.
Simple Installation: A mounted glide system provides a quick installation and easy access to the unit. No plumbing is necessary.

Michele Bedard, vice president of marketing for Sub-Zero and Wolf, said, "At Sub-Zero and Wolf, we always strive to provide consumers with the highest quality kitchen appliances. That’s exactly what we've done with our brand new coffee system. The system is easy to use, easy to care for and creates gourmet beverages for our customers to enjoy."

Wolf Appliance , Inc. is now offering three distinct design styles within its popular E series built-in oven line to correspond with the New Generation product launch, the largest product rollout in the company’s 70-year history. The design styles include “transitional,” “contemporary” and “professional” and will better coordinate with the growing family of Wolf products. The new stainless steel E series ovens have a full stainless touch control panel and a new handle design, while the black models include the new handle as well as an updated glass door pattern. Both will maintain the outstanding performance features owners have come to know and love. The new E series models, which launch in Autumn 2013, will be compatible with home automation systems. Service can be simply set up through participating vendors such as Control 4 and Crestron.

"The E series has made Wolf’s precision performance accessible to home cooks. Now, the line's distinct new styles make the E series adaptable to a wider variety of kitchen designs than ever before," said Jim Bakke president and CEO of Sub-Zero and Wolf. "The products look striking and feature a modernised touch-sensitive user interface for ease of control. Consumers can command every function of their oven with a simple touch of the screen. The new E series contains the same reliable Wolf performance technology that has served our customers well for years. It’s all about precise control and delicious results."

E Series Stainless Steel Touch Panel

E Series Performance Features
The new E series ovens maintain the line’s precision dual convection performance feature which delivers consistently uniform heat throughout the oven’s signature cobalt-blue cavity, for more predictably delicious results. For example, when baked on multiple racks each cookie receives equal heat and is perfectly baked, whether located in front or rear. Dual convection in conjunction with 10 cooking modes (bake, roast, grill, convection bake, convection roast, convection grill, convection, bake stone [accessory required], dehydrate [accessory required] and proof) ensures that home cooks achieve delicious results every time. These performance features come standard with the single oven, and are located in the upper unit of a double oven.

Other standard E series oven features include: two adjustable oven racks and one telescopic rack, a large viewing double-pane window, dual interior halogen lighting, a self-clean function, delayed start and Sabbath features. Balanced door hinges assure smooth opening and closing. E series ovens have earned the Star-K Kosher certification.

E Series Transitional Single Oven

E Series Contemporary Double Oven

E Series Contemporary Single Oven

E Series Professional Double Oven

New E Series Design
The new E series design styles – classic yet flexible transitional, ultra-sleek contemporary and bold professional – offer infinite design application possibilities that will suit even more kitchen styles. The Professional and Transitional models incorporate a new stainless steel touch control panel with an LED display screen, which can be customised with three levels of light intensity, three oven timer chime tones, a 12 or 24-hour clock option and five language choices: English, French, Spanish, German and Italian.

The stainless steel transitional and professional styles feature a stainless steel touch control panel and tubular or professional handles, respectively. The contemporary style control panel features all black glass with a black tubular handle. All E series ovens feature a new glass pattern visible in the viewing window, which coordinates with new induction and electric cooktops fostering compatibility among the family of Wolf appliances. Also noteworthy, E series tubular handles have been slightly updated to match future M series ovens and other new generation Wolf products.

The E series ovens measure 762mm in width and, due to its uniform horizontal and vertical stacking options, can be paired with other Wolf products such as the Wolf microwave and warming drawer. Additionally, E series ovens can be installed flush with surrounding cabinetry for a sleek, modern look.

Michele Bedard, vice president of marketing for Sub-Zero and Wolf, said, "The new E series ovens are a prime example of our commitment to evolve our cooking appliances for the home cook, whether novice or seasoned, so that our features are always easy to use yet highly performing. We also work with the design community to identify trends that shape our design efforts to make our customer’s kitchens stand the test of time. Every single product leaving our factory has been tested to last for decades, not just years."

Wolf appliances fitted with Control4 technology controlled through a personal tablet

The Control4 system also notifies homeowners if the refrigerator door has been left open, a function which works alongside Sub-Zero’s existing NASA technology that helps to prevent temperature variances which can lead to food spoilage. The app also maximises energy efficiency by lowering the refrigerator’s power consumption at different times of day and can be linked to specific lifestyle needs and preferences such as increasing ice production prior to entertaining, saving energy when set to holiday mode and selecting a Sabbath mode to observe religious requirements.

An additional benefit of this new technology is an enhanced service experience. Customer service requests can be sent directly to Sub-Zero and Wolf Certified Service professionals through the Control4 system, which means a quicker diagnosis and resolution of the problem for customers.

Sub-Zero, the industry leader in premium refrigeration and wine storage, is introducing a groundbreaking line of integrated refrigeration as part of the New Generation product launch, the largest product rollout in the company’s 68-year history. The new integrated refrigeration line is the culmination of Sub-Zero’s industry-leading food preservation technology and impeccable design which offers limitless flexibility for seamless incorporation into any kitchen.

New integrated refrigeration utilises Sub-Zero’s pioneering freshness technology and advanced performance in addition to its well-known dedication to quality. In addition, all of the column, tall and drawer refrigerator units will now be offered in four widths, totalling 16 new models. The combined features of the new integrated refrigeration line, answer the call to conceal the refrigerator while revealing its freshest attributes. This exciting product line will be made available over the next 18 months.

Integrated 762mm Column x 2 + 457mm Wine

"Our new integrated refrigeration products represent the culmination of art and science in the kitchen,” said Jim Bakke, president and CEO of Sub-Zero & Wolf. “We’re bringing unparalleled freshness performance with the most flexible design features to one of our most popular lines. This line allows customers to have refrigeration virtually anywhere they want in their homes. We’ve invested a great deal in the latest technology to engineer these products to meet the expectations and needs of our savvy customers."

After creating the Built-in appliance category in the 1950’s, which made hiding the refrigerator possible, Sub-Zero pioneered integrated refrigeration to market in 1995; once again revolutionising the kitchen design industry. Now in 2013, the company introduces the latest innovation benchmark line of integrated refrigerator and freezer columns, which includes several more performance and design features. Products will contain all of Sub-Zero’s pioneering freshness technology, now including antimicrobial Air Purification, which reduces elements that spoil produce and other fresh foods. New design features for the integrated refrigeration line allow for even more customisation and design flexibility with four widths ranging from the slim 457mm to the spacious 914mm, and as always, every model can be designed to sit flush with the surrounding cabinetry and counter tops. With the size variations and flush-set design, integrated refrigeration can go anywhere; from kitchens to cinema rooms, dens to summer houses.

"At Sub-Zero, creativity and the latest technology work together to make the ideal appliance for daily life,” said Michele Bedard, vice president of marketing for Sub-Zero & Wolf. “The innovations we’re bringing to integrated refrigeration are designed to give limitless design potential for home owners to use our appliances to best fit their needs and their homes. We intend for our developments to continue setting the standard for intelligently designed and beautiful kitchens, and appliances that last for decades not years."

Food Preservation
In the New Generation of integrated refrigeration, Sub-Zero retains its commitment to the science of food preservation and has carried over freshness features that make Sub-Zero the preservation experts. New integrated refrigeration incorporates these characteristics to promote optimal freshness:

Dual Refrigeration: Sub-Zero products contain separate, sealed cooling systems for the refrigerator and freezer that ensure optimum preservation conditions for each type of food. Fresh food requires chilly, humid air to stay fresh; frozen food needs frigid, dry air to preserve flavour. Dual refrigeration eliminates cross-compartment flavour contamination and reduces freezer burn.
Air Purification: New to integrated refrigeration is Sub-Zero’s unique air purification system that reduces elements that cause food to spoil. Mould, bacteria, viruses and especially ethylene gas are all significantly reduced.
Easier Installation: A three-axis installation, six-direction door panel alignment system ensures a flawless fit with adjacent cabinetry. Rollers on the bottom of each unit simplify installation.
Precise Temperature Control: More precise and versatile than mechanical systems, the microprocessor control function of integrated refrigeration maintains the temperature within 1° of the selected setting. It also controls the defrost patterns and stores diagnostic information for service technicians.
Crisper Crisper Storage Drawer: New integrated refrigeration contains a drawer that is a lower-temperature, higher-humidity zone – a refrigerator within a refrigerator – with the perfect conditions for produce and meats.
Freshness Cards: Included in the new integrated refrigeration products will be freshness cards that provide proper food storage instructions to guide homeowners on how to make the most of their innovative food preservation technology.

Design & Dimensions
Integrated refrigeration is designed to sit flush with cabinetry. With optional stainless steel finishes and limitless treatment and design options, Sub-Zero’s integrated refrigeration can either stand out or “disappear” into a kitchen’s décor. Now, integrated refrigeration products are available to homeowners in four widths for even more customisation: 457 mm, 610 mm, 762mm and 914mm. Consumers can select from three product types:

Column: 2134 mm in height, columns have a single entry with the door spanning the entire height. Each column can be either a refrigerator or a freezer. Columns are available in 457mm (all freezer only), 610mm, (fridge or freezer), 762mm (fridge or freezer) and 914mm (fridge only)
Tall: Also 2134 mm in height, the tall variety has three access points: the main compartment and two drawers underneath. Integrated tall products are available as all refrigerators in 762mm and combination refrigerator/freezer in 762mm and 914mm.
Drawers: New integrated refrigeration drawers measure 876mm in height and offer two widths: 762mm and 914mm. All refrigerators in 762mm and combination refrigerator/freezer drawers are available in 762mm and 914mm.

Integrated 914mm Drawers

New integrated refrigeration products include additional features that provide simple and sophisticated functionality. The tall and column products contain:
  • Filtered and chilled internal water dispensers
  • Filtered and chilled internal water dispensers

Sub-Zero & Wolf, leading manufacturers of luxury kitchen appliances, announce continued global expansion with the introduction of new products and showrooms. More than 65 years since its inception, Sub-Zero’s growth in the international market is a testament to the company’s dedication to providing consumers with meticulously crafted products.

“We are thrilled to not only be able to introduce new products into international markets this year, but also provide consumers and designers with an interactive and  sensory experience in our showrooms,” said Michele Bedard, vice president of marketing for Sub-Zero and Wolf.  “We find that the interaction consumers have in a showroom setting affords a better vision and sense of confidence when it comes to incorporating products into designs. It’s extremely gratifying to be able to extend this one-of-a kind brand experience to consumers worldwide on over 50 highly appointed Sub-Zero and Wolf showrooms.”

Since 2009, multiple international showrooms have opened including locations in Australia, Milan, Beijing, London, Mexico City, and Brussels. Last year, the company opened three new showrooms Chicago, Singapore, Tel Aviv, and Jakarta and will add Atlanta and Dallas to the list in 2012. International growth has also strengthened the network of dedicated distributors and dealers, a cornerstone of the company’s business.

“Our ability to expand internationally is largely due to our superior team of dedicated foreign partners,” said Jim Bakke, president and chief executive officer of Sub-Zero and Wolf.
The company’s expansion endeavors are also strong in the U.S.A. where it opened a 440,000 square foot production facility in Goodyear, Arizona in 2011. The plant, purchased as a supplement to the company’s Phoenix-based plant, employs several hundred people and currently manufactures all Sub-Zero branded products except the built-in line, which continues to be produced in Fitchburg, Wisconsin.

Sub-Zero and Wolf will also partner with Italian-based distributor Frigo2000 in April to host a cocktail reception at Fuori Salone 2012, which coincides with EuroCucina, the internationally renowned design event held in Milan.

Premium appliance brand Sub-Zero & Wolf has joined forces with Marazzi Design to create the exclusive Colosseo Oro kitchen. The “Colosseo Oro” will be produced as a limited edition run of just ten individually engineered kitchens all made to a simple design brief, to celebrate the kitchen by crafting the most exclusive workplace for the at-home cook. Unveiled at 100% Design 2011, the Colosseo Oro uses intelligent design and iconic, state-of-the-art appliances provided by Sub-Zero & Wolf. Bold colours, sleek lines, bespoke cabinetry, and opulent, hand-applied finishes create the ultimate home kitchen without compromising on style.

Marazzi Designs’ daring and dynamic style uses a newly developed composite of hand-chosen materials in striking gold and red to add opulence and depth. Finishes include metallic gloss chameleon lacquers, 24 carat gold leafing, Venetian inked stained gold glass and crocodile embossed leather. Cabinetry and surfaces are finished with 12 coats of clear lacquer applied by hand and finished with glitter to create a unique design statement, Swarovski crystal lights complete the effect.

The design of Colosseo Oro removes the confining planes of wall facing kitchens to create a futuristic open plan cooking space. A detached circular island forms the hub of the kitchen and creates the best cooking environment for the at-home chef. The circular design is built to compliment the natural twisting ergonomic movement of the body and all of the carefully chosen appliances are fully integrated around the cook, ensuring everything is to hand. An outer circle surrounding the island creates the perfect place for friends and family to sit and chat whilst dinner is prepared, reflecting the increased use of the kitchen as the heart of a family home.

Premium refrigeration and cooking appliances provided by Sub-Zero and Wolf ensures the kitchen has the most modern and state-of-the art technology to deliver the best culinary results, without compromising on style or luxury. The Colosseo Oro includes Sub-Zero Built-In Refrigeration, using technology initially developed by NASA and a unique air-purification system to aid food preservation, food remains fresher and tastes better for longer. The full-size Sub-Zero Wine Storage unit combines high-quality design with premium storage. Every bottle of wine is kept at optimum cellar and serving conditions whilst beautifully displaying the collection to create a focal point within the kitchen. Wolf E Series Ovens guarantee the at-home chef can create culinary masterpieces using the very best cooking technology. The oven offers a choice of ten cooking modes, three removable racks with full-extension bottom rack and Wolf’s unique cobalt blue porcelain interior to increase visibility whilst cooking to ensure every meal is cooked to perfection.

Creating iconic design-led kitchens for over 18 years, designer Paul Marazzi describes his vision behind the design, “I feel a kitchen should have a soul and presence, transforming the room into an emotional experience, a celebration of family life and convivial living, transcending the kitchen into the heart and soul of the home”. Sub-Zero & Wolf announces the opening of ‘The Subterranean Studio’, a striking and very British extension of their Brompton Road Living Kitchen. Sub-Zero & Wolf have worked with the best in bespoke interiors to create the new Subterranean Studio, a design destination to relax and experience the benefits of Sub-Zero & Wolf appliances in an inspirational living space. Heavily influenced by traditional British style, the dramatic interior includes a wood-panelled study, cigar room, cocktail bar, subterranean garden and a Living Kitchen for Sub-Zero & Wolf’s live cooking demonstrations.

Brought together by interior designer Ann Brookman, the studio takes traditional influences such as the British Gentleman’s Club, Winston Churchill and London market stalls and mixes them with modern vibrant colours and art deco touches. The blend of influences perfectly complements the strong, contemporary style so synonymous with Sub-Zero’s state-of-the-art refrigeration and Wolf’s premium cooking appliances.

The kitchen forms the heart of the new space; Sub-Zero & Wolf appliances are beautifully integrated behind cabinetry crafted from the finest hand picked American Black Walnut by the Bespoke Furniture Company. The iconic red knobs of the Wolf Dual Fuel Range create a focal point and are complemented by hand-stitched leather handles and granite worktops from Stone Theatre. A stunning 4.65m dining table leads off from the kitchen seating up to 24 people. Beautifully set with elegant NewWave tableware from Villeroy & Boch, the dining area provides the perfect setting for private Subterranean Supper Clubs hosted throughout the year in collaboration with celebrity chef’s and Friends of Sub-Zero & Wolf…. the hottest new ticket in town!

The Study and Cigar Room echo English Gentleman’s clubs of old and pay tribute to British icon Winston Churchill. Low level oak panelling, designed exclusively by Ann Brookman and Osborne of Ilkeston, frames the study walls with a striking bespoke Scottish Gothic fire surround hand carved from Bath Limestone by Templestone Masonry Ltd to include a copy of the original crest on the front of the building.

Winston Churchill’s iconic silhouette appears on the glass doors of a striking archway leading to the Cigar Room. A secret brandy cabinet created by the Bespoke Furniture Company for the Cigar Room really encapsulates the innovative spirit of The Subterranean Studio. Both spaces create an atmospheric area in which to relax and discover more about Sub-Zero & Wolf ….whilst enjoying a glass of the finest!

The Bar, created by Ann Brookman and the Bespoke Furniture Company, uses modern, chunky stainless steel which beautifully complements the Sub-Zero & Wolf wine storage. The most striking element of the new bar is the mirrored display unit positioned within a rustic brick arch at the back of the bar. It promises to boast a range of interesting and unique spirits every night of the week and create a real talking point when illuminated.

Beyond the Studio, designer Ann Brookman and Craig Davies (President and CEO Europe for Sub-Zero and Wolf), have created a decked subterranean garden with three archways inspired by London street scenes.

No Sub-Zero & Wolf space would be complete without state-of-the-art lighting and audio technology. A custom designed interface created by AV Photon and controlled by i-pad and i-phone adjusts the lighting and audio throughout, including a bespoke mirror that doubles up as a TV.

To launch The Subterranean Studio, Sub-Zero & Wolf will be holding a series of invitation-only Supper Clubs every Thursday throughout September, each hosted by a celebrity chef and a Friend of Sub-Zero & Wolf.  Log onto www.subzero-wolf.co.uk or follow us at twitter.com/subzerowolfuk for updates on further Sub-Zero & Wolf Subterranean Supper Clubs throughout the year.
