RAISE YOUR GLASS TO BETTER WINE PRESERVATION

As different from the typical home wine-cooling unit as wine is from grape juice. The Sub-Zero wine preservation storage system leaves nothing to chance or compromise. Detail by fine detail, from fully insulated interior cavities and tight magnetic door seals, to wiring for your home security system. Sub-Zero gives your wines every advantage, as they await the day you serve them.

Built to stand the test of time, every Sub-Zero wine storage unit is factory tested for five to twenty four hours before shipping. Fine wine is a valuable investment, protect it accordingly.

The Sub-Zero ICBWS-30 can house up to 147 bottles — 50 in the upper zone, 97 in the lower, either two different temperatures zones or one large one throughout. Designed for those who want their wine storage built into cabinetry but still want to see the product's handsome lines, sleek hinges and stylish sheen of heavy-guage stainless steel.

Alternatively, with the overlay option, you can customise the built-in units with your choice of finish or with Sub-Zero classic stainless steel panels either to match or act as a counterpoint to surrounding cabinetry.

Or, if it's a free-standing wine storage option you're looking for, the simple addition of stainless steel top and side panels creates a stylish single, double or multiple free-standing wine storage solution.

The Four Enemies Of Wine

ENEMY NO.1 – HEAT

No one likes premature aging. But that is what excessive heat and unstable temperatures cause in wine.  Sub-Zero maintains wine’s preferred habitat – cool and steady – in two independent storage zones. Each can be set in a range of 4C to 18C. Digital controls hold the temperature within one degree of the set point.

ENEMY NO.2 - LIGHT

Light affects ageing and has been implicated in causing unpleasant aromas. That is why many winemakers use dark bottles. But invisible ultraviolet light penetrates even dark glass, not to mention the glass doors of many wine cooling units. Sub-Zero’s UV-resistant, bronze-tinted glass shields wine from harmful rays.

ENEMY NO.3 - HUMIDTY

When it comes to humidity, wine appreciates moderation. Too little moisture in the air makes corks dry out and shrink, letting the wine oxidize. Too much, makes labels peel and rot. Sub-Zero’s dual evaporators, one for each storage zone, maintain steady, moderate humidity.

ENEMY NO.4 - VIBRATION

A rough, noisy compressor would disturb more than the peace of your household. Mechanical vibration can damage delicate wines, such as a Pinot Grigio. Sub-Zero’s quiet compressor lets wines rest undisturbed. Shelves glide in and out smoothly, providing access without agitating the wine.

  • " I adore my Sub-Zero fridge/freezer. It looks like a spaceship in my kitchen, quite the sexiest thing I’ve ever owned. Even my husband is obsessed with it, which is a real turnaround! With my Wolf ovens he may even be cooking for me next. "

Thomasina Miers, winner of Masterchef 2005 and owner of
    Wahaca chain of restaurants
  • " I have found that to produce the best possible food you also need the freshest ingredients. In all my years of cooking professionally I haven’t come across anything that beats my Sub-Zero Fridge/Freezer unit in terms of size, configuration and technical superiority. It is an invaluable tool for me because of the superior refrigeration system unique to Sub-Zero. With other brands there is an exchange of air between the fridge and freezer, meaning humidity levels are low, which can dry out food. My Sub-Zero model keeps the air in each compartment separate, preserving all food, especially fruit and vegetables, for longer. "

Antony Worrall Thompson, chef and TV presenter
  • " My Sub-Zero crisper keeps fruits and vegetables fresh for about a week longer than in my old fridge. It’s hugely impressive and also incredibly beautiful. My Sub-Zero freezer allows me to see exactly what I’ve got stored away so that I can always whip something out if I suddenly have people coming over. The ice-machine is made for throwing parties...we can’t wait to have our first one. "

  • " For the kind of reliability and quality that is integral to storing superior food I depend on Sub-Zero every time. I recently chose the 700TCI fridge with freezer drawers. It is so flexible and spacious (capacity of around 140 litres) and has a clean look as it fits flush to the rest of my kitchen cabinets. Plus I was attracted to the dual refrigeration system, which is unique to the brand. Dual compressors within the model maintain independent conditions in the refrigerator and freezer drawers to prevent odours from food mixing between the two. It also means there is constant temperature control so food stays fresher for longer. "

James Martin, chef and TV presenter
  • " Sub-Zero & Wolf has revolutionised my home. We have a beautiful kitchen but now thanks to Sub-Zero & Wolf it is fully functional at the highest possible standard. Wolf allows fantastic control and is as close to industrial performance as possible. My 7 year old loves the fridge and checks the refrigerator every morning. I think it’s his favourite toy. "
